As I was born and brought up in the city of spirituality, Benaras ( also known as Kashi or Varanasi), I have observed this city while twiling around the city. Starting from the narrow lanes(galliyan) , old buildings, a herd of bulls (saandh) piling on the road, resting and observing like a PRO!
Moving towards ghat life people bathing in the holy river Ganga, performing dubkis (plunging into water quickly), performing sun salutationdoing yoga and singing folk songs and each phase of life with ease.
Life is different here by each pahar (time) of the day.
In the evening, Ganga aarti is performed everyday, which clears the soul and there comes immense number of tourists and locals to experience that.
The Idea behind this thread is to show how colorful is the life of Benarasis and this luminous city.
Dev deepavali is the festival of Kartik Poornima celebrated in the city of Varanasi.
It falls on the full moon of the Hindu month of Kartika and takes place fifteen days after Diwali.
